Small Business Stories: Friesen Counseling

Friesen Counseling believes in the power of therapy to facilitate positive and authentic change

Elizabeth Friesen, owner of Friesen Counseling, has created an office with a welcoming environment and a diverse team of counselors at 500 N Main, Suite 156. She shares the thought and intentionality behind starting her counseling business in Newton.

Why did you decide to start your business?

“I started my counseling business because I have a passion for helping people and a deep belief in the power of therapy to facilitate positive and authentic change. I wanted to create a practice that prioritizes client-centered care and provides high-quality services to individuals and families in need in our community.”

What makes your business unique?

“While there is always room to grow, I strive to create a diverse team of counselors who are specifically trained to cater to the unique needs of our community. Each of our counselors brings a different set of skills and specialties to the table, allowing us to offer a broad range of evidence-based practices. I believe another aspect that makes us unique is how we take care of those who reach out to us from the first call. We take pride in providing compassionate care to our community, and we understand that seeking help can be a difficult process. If we are unable to offer you a prompt appointment, we want to ensure that you receive the care you need as soon as possible. That’s why we prioritize your needs and refer you to other practices in the area. We believe that timely access to support is crucial, and we want to make sure that you get the help you need when you need it.”
