Leadership Newton Spring Class Now Open for Enrollment

Once a year, the Leadership Newton Council hosts a 5-6 week leadership course for members of the community. This class is designed to introduce and dive into various principles of leadership that will help inspire and prepare students to take on new levels of leadership in our community.

The 2022 Spring Leadership class is scheduled for Wednesdays from 12:00 – 3:00 pm beginning April 20th and ending May 25th. The class will meet at the Prairy Market & Deli Mezzanine. The cost to enroll is $125 per person for Chamber Members, and $175 per person for non-members, and the deadline to enroll is Wednesday, April 13th. Lunch for each class is included in the registration fee.

The facilitator for the Spring Leadership class is Scott Metzler. Retiring in 2019 as the Chief of the Newton Fire/EMS department, Metzler is a dedicated student of leadership and a sought-after speaker on practical leadership strategies.

Our 2022 Leadership Class will be called Upfront Leadership. Using case studies, guided discussion, and participants’ own leadership experiences, engaged members will make sense of real-world leadership challenges by discussing topics like:

  • Leadership in Action
  • Team Dynamics
  • Unity of Leadership
  • Decision Making
  • Leading Culture Change
  • Exercising Adaptive Leadership
  • Diagnosing Wicked Problems, Tame Problems, and Crises
  • And More!!!
