Our Chamber Check program is one of our primary shop local initiatives that members can be a part of!

Chamber Checks make the perfect gift for your employees, co-workers, family and friends! You decide the amount, then they can spend the Chamber Check at any of our participating merchants. Our Chamber Check Program offers a unique way to keep dollars and spending in our local economy. Shop local, shop in the Newton area!

WHAT ARE CHAMBER CHECKS?

Chamber Checks are gift certificates, purchased through the Chamber that can be spent at participating Chamber member businesses. Chamber Checks look like a check, but spend like cash. They are designed to be purchased with the intent of keeping our dollars local in Newton.

HOW DO I PURCHASE CHAMBER CHECKS?

Chamber Checks can be purchased at the Newton Area Chamber of Commerce, in person, or by phone at (316) 283-2560, or by filling out the order form below. You may purchase Chamber Checks with cash or credit card. They come in $5 increments, and there is no processing fee to purchase Chamber Checks and you pay only for the amount listed on the Chamber Check certificate. We need at least 24 hours/one business day’s notice to process your order, so be sure to call or stop in and let us know your order ahead of time!

WHO CAN USE CHAMBER CHECKS?

Anyone can purchase and use Chamber Checks. Only Chamber members may accept them in their place of business. Purchasing Chamber Checks as a holiday bonus for your employees or a gift for your family is the perfect way to ensure that hard-earned local dollars are spent within the local community!

AS A CHAMBER MEMBER, HOW CAN I BENEFIT FROM CHAMBER CHECKS?

As a Chamber member, Chamber Checks can only be spent at your business. Did you know? The highest demand for Chamber Checks is during the holiday seasons, specifically November and December. In November and December of 2015 alone, the Newton Chamber sold $55,000 worth of Chamber Checks. And to think, all of that money is being spent here locally!

HOW DO CHAMBER CHECKS BENEFIT THE COMMUNITY?

Chamber Checks benefit the community by keeping dollars local in Newton. Keeping money in our local economy encourages businesses to expand and develop, helps to fund local government budgets, creates local jobs, reduces our carbon footprint, and fosters community pride.

HOW DO I ACCEPT CHAMBER CHECKS AT MY BUSINESS?

Chamber Checks look like a check, but should be accepted like cash at your business. They may be deposited directly into your bank account as if they were a check written to you!
